Brady Basso Injury: Could return as reliever

Basso (shoulder) struck out two in a scoreless inning Sunday during his rehab appearance with Single-A Stockton and could be deployed as a reliever moving forward before making his return from the 60-day injured list, Martin Gallegos of MLB.com reports.

Basso started in four of his seven appearances for the Athletics in 2024, but after he looked strong in a one-inning rehab start Sunday, the club is considering bringing him back as a reliever, per Gallegos. If Basso looks good over a few more rehab outings, it wouldn't be a surprise to see him return from the 60-day IL within the next couple of weeks.
