Riley Nelson News: Lands with Cleveland

The Guardians have selected Nelson with the 162nd overall pick in the 2025 First-Year Player Draft.

The 21-year-old's lone season at Vanderbilt was a productive one, as he finished 2025 with eight homers and seven steals while batting .344 in 261 plate appearances. Nelson's 13.7 percent strikeout rate and 13 percent walk rate showed encouraging plate discipline.
