2026 Fantasy Outlook
Thorpe had surgery in September 2024 to remove a bone spur from his right elbow. He recovered in time to pitch in a minor-league game during spring training, but unfortunately his UCL snapped in that outing and he required season-ending Tommy John surgery. Thorpe will be a year removed from the operation by Opening Day but probably won't be an option for the White Sox until at least June or so. The 25-year-old skipped over the Triple-A level before making his major-league debut in 2024, but he managed just a 25:21 K:BB over 44.1 frames in his nine starts for the big club. Thorpe is not a hard thrower but has an exquisite changeup, or at least he did before his elbow surgeries. While he's not a bad buy-low option in dynasty formats, Thorpe probably isn't going to have much redraft value in 2026. Read Past Outlooks
