2026 Fantasy Outlook

Seattle has a lot of exciting young pitchers; this is not one of them. Evans has the young part down as he will not turn 25 until early June, but he is everything the rest of the rotation is not. Evans is a softer-tossing swing man type who relies on keeping hitters off balance throwing six different pitch types to both righties and lefties. The depth of repertoire helped keep him split neutral last season, but an 8.0% K-BB% and a 1.44 HR/9 did not help him keep his ERA below 4.00. A 5.19 FIP says things could have been worse. Evans is very likely going back to Tacoma to start 2026, where he allowed only 3 homers in 44 innings because he will need one of the Fab Five in the rotation to succumb to an injury to have any short in the Seattle rotation.
