The Astros took Munoz in the Rule 5 draft and he'll try to win a roster spot this spring. He actually has plenty of MLB experience, unlike most Rule 5 picks. The hard-throwing righty logged 83.2 innings in the majors for Miami in 2024 before spending 2025 in the Cardinals organization, working primarily as a reliever at Triple-A. Munoz had a 3.28 ERA, 1.32 WHIP and 76:30 K:BB in 57.2 innings last season at Triple-A. Munoz owns a 6.73 ERA and 1.59 WHIP in 93.2 career major-league innings, working as both a starter and reliever. He exclusively worked out of the bullpen in both the majors and minors last season and will presumably be fighting for a low-leverage bullpen role. Read Past Outlooks
