2026 Fantasy Outlook
The 6-foot-7 Lagrange was surprisingly assigned to High-A Hudson Valley to begin 2025, even though he had an 18.8 percent walk rate at Single-A Tampa in 2024. Lagrange was up for the challenge, logging a 4.10 ERA, 1.03 WHIP and 64:12 K:BB in 41.2 innings at High-A before getting promoted to Double-A on June 3. He proceeded to log a 3.22 ERA, 1.29 WHIP and 104:50 K:BB in 78.1 innings at Double-A as a 22-year-old. Among 136 pitchers who threw 70 innings at Double-A last season, Lagrange's 31 percent strikeout rate was the sixth-best mark while his 14.9 percent walk rate was the fifth-worst mark. He'll continue to be developed as a starter for now, but the Yankees could opt to move him to the bullpen in 2027 or 2028 if he doesn't take a big step forward with his control. Lagrange's upper-90s fastball regularly touches triple digits (up to 102 mph) and his slider is plus, but he doesn't have a diverse repertoire. His range of outcomes stretches from high-strikeout setup man to high-walk starter, with lights out closer arguably the preferred potential outcome in roto dynasty leagues. Read Past Outlooks
