Cijntje was seen as a potential mid-rotation starter when Seattle selected him 15th overall out of Mississippi State in 2024, and his dynasty value got a boost due to the ideal landing spot. Most famous for being a switch-pitcher, Cijntje got shelled as a lefty in his debut season, giving up two homers while walking 19 batters in 62 plate appearances, so perhaps he'll stick to pitching righty in 2026. All told, he logged a 3.99 ERA, 1.22 WHIP, 120:51 K:BB in 108.1 innings across High-A and Double-A. Control was his biggest weakness, but he had a perfectly fine 8.1 percent walk rate as a righty, so this offseason could represent a modest buy-low opening in dynasty leagues. He sits in the mid-90s with his plus fastball and boasts an upper-80s slider that is a wipeout offering against righties (.480 OPS against in 223 PA against righties as a righty). Cijntje's floor is comfortably established as a potential setup man on the strength of his fastball and slider, but if he can find a weapon to neutralize lefties, he could make good on his pre-draft mid-rotation upside.
