2026 Fantasy Outlook
Doughty had the exact type of debut season we'd hope for from any prep righty, save for his season ending in late-August due to shoulder inflammation. The recipient of a bonus over $2.5 million in 2024, Doughty logged four scoreless innings in his final outing Aug. 15 and had been on a bit of a roll, accruing a 0.51 ERA, 0.68 WHIP and 25:0 K:BB in 17.2 innings across his last four starts, so the injury seems minor and more of a "tired after a long season" type of issue, but it will still be worth tracking his availability early in spring training. The 6-foot-1 righty amassed a 3.48 ERA, 1.25 WHIP, 99 strikeouts and a 49.4 percent groundball rate in 85.1 innings across 22 starts with Lynchburg. He showcases one of the better curveballs in the minors along with a 93-mph fastball that touches 97 mph with good life. His average changeup is a fine third pitch, and Doughty's plus control allows everything to play up. Prep righties are risky for a reason, and they very rarely march through the minors on a linear path, but Doughty looks like a future No. 3 starter on paper. Read Past Outlooks
