Kendry Chourio

Kansas City Royals A
2026 Fantasy Outlook
Pitching prospects will break your heart, but Chourio is as fun to dream on as any lower-level pitching prospect. He signed for less than $300K out of Venezuela and was sent to the Dominican Summer League as a completely under-the-radar 17-year-old. Chourio laid waste to the DSL (31.3 K-BB%) and then the Arizona Complex League (35.4 K-BB%) before getting another aggressive assignment with a bump to Single-A Columbia on July 29. He logged an unlucky 5.16 ERA to go with a 1.06 WHIP and 24:4 K:BB in 22.2 innings across six starts at Single-A and tallied 51.1 innings across three levels. It's incredibly rare for a 17-year-old pitcher to follow that path in their first pro season. Chourio already boasts a 95-98 mph fastball and two strong secondaries in his curveball and changeup. His changeup is already one of the best changeups among minor-league righties. His combination of stuff, command and polish give Chourio one of the highest ceilings among all pitching prospects. He could reach the majors at 19 or 20 if he stays healthy. Read Past Outlooks
