2026 Fantasy Outlook
Gonzalez just turned 22 in January, but he is already considered close to a bat-only player, which hurts his dynasty value. Limited to left field, where his defense is still below-average, and designated hitter, Gonzalez also bats right-handed and could be limited to short-side platoon work. He slashed .329/.395/.513 with 15 homers, eight steals, an 8.7 percent walk rate and a 14.5 percent strikeout rate in 123 games across High-A, Double-A and Triple-A. His 47.6 percent groundball rate prohibited Gonzalez from getting to all of his 55-grade raw power in games. His 36.1 O-Swing% and 13.8 SwStr% in 34 games at Triple-A were poor marks, but he should improve on those figures in a return to Triple-A. Gonzalez could find stretches of regular playing time over the next few years, but his poor defense and lack of patience at the plate will likely leave his big-league club wanting more.
