A.J. Ewing

21-Year-Old OutfielderOF
New York Mets AA
2026 Fantasy Outlook
Ewing stole 70 bases in 124 games last season while emerging as a potential long-term option for the Mets in center field. He received $670K in the 2023 draft and was roughly a league average (102 wRC+) hitter at Single-A as a 19-year-old in 2024. Ewing returned to Single-A in 2025 and logged a 204 wRC+ in 18 games and got a quick promotion to High-A. He played 78 games at High-A and got another promotion to Double-A for his last 28 games of the campaign. All told, Ewing slashed .315/.401/.429 with three home runs, a 12.1 percent walk rate and an 18.6 percent strikeout rate. While Ewing's power is the weakest part of his game, he's not an intentional slap hitter, as he hit more balls to the pull side (40.8 percent) than the opposite field (38 percent) and his 40.3 percent groundball rate was a stellar mark. If anything, Ewing put on too much of a laser show, hitting more line drives (31.6 percent) than flyballs (28.2 percent). His realistic ceiling is Nico Hoerner in the outfield, and he's tracking towards an MLB debut in late-2026 or early-2027. Read Past Outlooks
