The Rangers reinstated Weems (elbow) from Double-A Frisco's 60-day injured list Tuesday and assigned him to Triple-A Round Rock.
ANALYSIS
After undergoing Tommy John surgery last February, Weems missed the entire 2023 season and didn't make his 2024 debut until Sept. 1, when he began a rehab assignment with High-A Hickory. Weems was roughed up for six earned runs on eight hits and one walk while striking out four over 3.2 innings across his three outings for Hickory, but the Rangers saw enough from the lefty to activate him and advance him to their top affiliate.
