Rest-of-Season Projections
2025 Fantasy Outlook
House came into 2024 clearly projecting as the Nationals' third baseman of the future and with a chance to reach the majors late in the year. However, his aggressiveness at the plate got exposed in his first run against Triple-A pitching, and now his long-term outlook is less clear. He has all the physical tools required to hit for plus power and play a good third base, so it will just come down to House's hit tool. He has never been mistaken for a patient hitter, but his 28.8 percent strikeout rate and three percent walk rate at Triple-A illustrates a hitter who was overmatched. House doesn't turn 22 until June, so he's still got time to figure things out, but he'll need to greatly improve his swing decisions. He has elite bat speed, but that may have led to him developing bad habits earlier in his career. Jose Tena looks worthy of more playing time this year at third base, so there is potentially a viable contender with House for long-term work at the hot corner in Washington. Read Past Outlooks

Three more hits Monday
House went 3-for-4 with a double, two runs scored, an RBI and a stolen base in Monday's win over the Reds.
Analysis
The 22-year-old continues to impress in his first look at major-league pitching. Over 13 games in July, House is slashing .327/.333/.500 with three doubles, two homers, one steal, eight runs and eight RBI, although his 1:10 BB:K is a bit of a concern. A first-round pick in the 2021 First-Year Player Draft, House is cementing his status as the Nationals' future at the hot corner.

How does Brady House compare to other hitters?
This section compares his stats with all batting seasons from the previous three seasons (minimum 400 plate appearances)*. The bar represents the player's percentile rank. For example, if the bar is halfway across, then the player falls into the 50th percentile for that stat and it would be considered average.
* Exit Velocity and Barrels/PA % are benchmarked against 2019 data (min 400 PA) and Hard Hit Rate is benchmarked against last season's data (min 400 PA). See here for more exit velocity/barrels stats plus an explanation of current limitations with that data set.

Past Fantasy Outlooks
2024
2023
2022
House got off to a great start in 2022, but a back injury ended up making it mostly a lost season, as his numbers fell off a cliff before he was eventually shut down. Healthy again in 2023, House quickly shot back up prospect rankings with a stellar showing at Single-A (142 wRC+), High-A (145 wRC+) and Double-A (127 wRC+) as a 20-year-old. His top tool is his plus power, and he had a slugging percentage of .475 or better at all three stops. His future home park will only help matters, as Nationals Park is the 10th best park for righty power, per Statcast park factors. House has already moved off of shortstop, but he comfortably projects as an above-average defensive third baseman. His BB/K trended down with each promotion, and his 28.4 K% and 4.7 BB% at Double-A illustrate how much of a free swinger he was against more advanced pitching. However, he won't turn 21 until June and is unchallenged internally as the team's long-term answer at the hot corner.

Latest Fantasy Rumors

Moving to third base
House will be playing third base going forward, Andrew Golden of the Washington Post reports.
Analysis
House was drafted as a shortstop, but the 2021 first-round selection will be developed at the hot corner going forward. In his first full professional season, the 19-year-old posted a .731 OPS over 45 games with three homers and just one stolen base in 2022. House still offers plenty of offensive upside while playing third base, but doesn't project to join the Nationals until the middle of the decade.
