Rest-of-Season Projections
2025 Fantasy Outlook
Canzone served as the left-handed portion of a corner outfield platoon for most of the season, though he was limited to just 67 games after needing two IL stints and being demoted to Triple-A Tacoma for the final month of the campaign. His wRC+ was only 87, though he improved to 112 on the farm. Canzone usually fans around the league average clip but last season he punched out 28.2 percent of the time. His hard-hit rate and barrel rate were both above average, so if Canzone can revert to higher contact, he could be back in the corner outfield and DH mix with an impressive spring training. Even so, Canzone is off the fantasy map, save for the deepest of formats. Read Past Outlooks

Heading back to minors
The Mariners optioned Canzone to Triple-A Tacoma on Sunday.
ANALYSIS
Since being recalled from Triple-A on Monday, Canzone appeared off the bench in two of the Mariners' ensuing five games while going 0-for-3 with two strikeouts. With third baseman Jorge Polanco limited to DH duties due to a sore side, the Mariners deemed Canzone an expendable piece and swapped him off the active roster for Ben Williamson, who will provide Seattle with more infield depth.

Red Sox hitters look like strong choices this week with four home games against the Blue Jays followed by an away series at the White Sox.

Todd Zola explains how projected playing time and a skills-based approach helps him identify upside plays late in a draft, as well as leading him to put Aaron Judge at the top of his personal rankings.

Todd Zola examines strategies for the Underdog postseason contest, and notes that while Shoehi Ohtani may be the best player, you may not want to take him first overall.

Bobby Witt and the Royals play eight games the week of August 26 to September 1, making them a top team in Todd Zola's weekly hitter rankings.
2024 Fantasy Outlook
An eighth-round selection out of Ohio State in 2019, Canzone tore up minor-league pitching in his time in the Arizona system, and he was one of the key components of the trade that sent Paul Sewald from the Mariners to the Diamondbacks near the deadline. His time in the majors wasn't nearly as successful with a OPS of .657 with six homers in 59 games at the highest level, but there were enough flashes of success combined with his stats in the minors to believe that there's fantasy upside in his profile. There's well above-average power in his left-handed bat, and he did a good job of making consistent contact with a strikeout rate of just 17.6 percent in his rookie campaign. The 26-year-old didn't show much patience at the plate, however, and well below-average speed means he won't be a stolen-base threat now or going forward. Canzone will have a chance to win a regular spot with the Mariners against right-handed pitching barring a plethora of offseason moves, and a breakout season -- while far from a foregone conclusion -- is well within reach.
