Rest-of-Season Projections
2025 Fantasy Outlook
It would have been difficult for Suarez's first season in the desert to get off to a worse start. The 33-year-old was sitting on a .196/.279/.312 batting line and had homered only six times through the end of June. One of the game's streakiest hitters then went on an epic three-month run which saw him slash .312/.357/.617 with 24 homers and 69 RBI across his final 78 contests. All told, Suarez finished with his fifth career 30-homer season, his third 100-RBI season and a career-high 90 runs scored. There will eventually be a season where Suarez won't be able to get up off the mat, but Suarez's batted-ball data in 2024 was right along with his recent norms and his strikeout rate was actually his lowest in six seasons. He should remain a productive, albeit inconsistent, fantasy asset again in 2025. Read Past Outlooks

Smashes another homer
Suarez went 1-for-4 with a solo home run and a walk in Monday's 6-3 loss to the Astros.
Analysis
New opponent, same result -- Suarez is still dialed in at the plate. Over four games since the All-Star break, the third baseman has slugged five homers while going 6-for-14 with three walks and eight RBI. He's up to 36 long balls on the year, good for the National League lead and just two behind Cal Raleigh for most in the majors. Suarez's power surge has his slugging percentage up to .605 and his OPS at .933, and he's added 86 RBI, 64 runs scored, 18 doubles and a stolen base over 99 contests this season.

Suarez has been one of the most consistent sources of power over the past five-plus years, but the veteran third baseman was only able to go deep 22 times in 2023 with a .391 slugging mark; his lowest since his rookie year with the Tigers in 2014. He also once again led baseball in strikeouts with 214 while hitting just .232, and only his 96 RBI kept him fantasy-relevant for the majority of the summer. While the numbers were disappointing, the metrics suggest that Suarez deserved better in several categories. His expected slugging percentage of .423 was markedly higher, and his barrel percentage of 13.2 ranked in the 87th percentile of qualified hitters. He also was able to draw 70 walks for a second straight season, and his excellent defense at the hot corner kept him in the lineup for all 162 games even when the hits weren't falling. Suarez is a good bounceback candidate for anyone looking for power from the hot corner, and he receives a modest home-park upgrade after getting dealt from Seattle to Arizona this offseason.

Latest Fantasy Rumors

M's, Yanks in aggressive pursuit
The Mariners and Yankees are the "most aggressive" teams in pursuit of Suarez via trade, Bob Nightengale of USA Today reports.
Analysis
Nightengale notes that there are "a handful of others" keeping tabs on Suarez, but currently it sounds like there are two clubs standing out. The Diamondbacks are expected to sell at the deadline, per Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic, but the extent to which they sell hasn't been determined. Suarez, though, seems like a safe bet to be moved as Arizona tries to take advantage of having arguably the biggest offensive trade chip on the market.
