2025 Fantasy Outlook
Goodman was picked up across a number of leagues amidst stretches of semi-regular playing time in Colorado, but his batting average ultimately settled at just .190. He hit .160/.189/.270 away from Coors Field. After being drafted in the fourth round in 2021, Goodman shot through the farm system, taking advantage of the favorable hitting conditions throughout the Rockies organization. That success has not yet translated to the highest level. Even with 14 home runs in 93 MLB games to date, Goodman has a career 59 wRC+ as he enters his age-25 season. The selling point here is catcher eligibility (23 appearances in 2024), but there is no track record in the majors to stand on. It's possible Goodman is not even on the big-league roster to begin the season given that he has multiple minor-league options remaining and no clear defensive home between catcher, outfield and first base. Belts homer in loss
CColorado Rockies
April 14, 2025
Goodman went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run in a loss to the Dodgers on Monday.
ANALYSIS
Goodman brought Colorado to within two runs with his two-run blast to center field in the seventh inning, but that was the final time either team crossed the plate. The third-year catcher began the season on a strong foot with a .368 average and two homers over his first five games, but he tailed off after that -- Monday's long ball snapped an eight-game homerless streak during which he went just 2-for-24 at the plate. Goodman's big power makes him an attractive fantasy target though, and he's seeing plenty of action as Colorado's primary backstop this season.

2024 Fantasy Outlook
A fourth-round pick in the 2020 MLB Draft out of the University of Memphis, Goodman tore his way through the Rockies' minor-league system, posting a combined .924 OPS with 72 home runs and 229 RBI in 263 games between Low-A Fresno, High-A Spokane, Double-A Hartford and Triple-A Albuquerque. Many of those affiliates play in hitter-friendly ballparks and Goodman mostly struggled in his first taste of MLB action down the stretch in 2023, but to gloss over what he did on the farm seems foolish given that he'll have the pleasure of taking half of his big-league at-bats within the confines of Coors Field. The 24-year-old appears poised to be a regular presence in the Colorado lineup out of the gate in 2024 and has the feel of a sneaky breakout candidate in his first full major-league campaign.
