2025 Fantasy Outlook
Rodriguez hit .129 with zero home runs and 14 strikeouts (with nine walks) in 40 MLB plate appearances last year, but his success at Triple-A still makes him a notable rookie for potential fantasy value in 2025. He slashed .301/.390/.540 with 29 home runs, eight steals, a 25.2 percent strikeout rate, a 12.6 percent walk rate and a 34.3 percent hard-hit rate in 118 games as a 24-year-old repeating the International League. One positive takeaway from his brief time in the majors: Rodriguez's 76.2 mph average bat speed was an elite mark. Given his age and lack of impact foot speed, Rodriguez doesn't get much hype, but he could be a 25-homer right fielder if he were given the opportunity. He'll be competing with the likes of Will Brennan, Jhonkensy Noel and Kyle Manzardo for playing time, and while he'll likely open the year back at Triple-A, he could find his way into a significant role sometime this summer. Back in majors
The Guardians recalled Rodriguez from Triple-A Columbus on Sunday, Tim Stebbins of MLB.com reports.
ANALYSIS
The 25-year-old made Cleveland's Opening Day roster but accumulated just five plate appearances before being demoted in early April. Rodriguez has raked for Columbus since being sent down with seven homers and a .324/.408/.494 slash line in 46 games, and he seems set for the small side of an outfield platoon with Nolan Jones.

Latest Fantasy Rumors

Promotion on horizon?
Rodriguez isn't in the lineup Wednesday for Triple-A Columbus after the Guardians announced that Lane Thomas is dealing with a foot injury, reports SI.com.
ANALYSIS
Thomas has only been back a week after being on the injured list for a month due to a wrist issue, but he's now battling another injury. Rodriguez made his MLB debut last season and went 0-for-5 in four games, but he could receive another opportunity in the near future. Angel Martinez operated as Cleveland's primary center fielder during Thomas' first absence, but his .265/.288/.379 slash line may not be enough to retain a regular role.
