2025 Fantasy Outlook
Rodriguez hit .129 with zero home runs and 14 strikeouts (with nine walks) in 40 MLB plate appearances last year, but his success at Triple-A still makes him a notable rookie for potential fantasy value in 2025. He slashed .301/.390/.540 with 29 home runs, eight steals, a 25.2 percent strikeout rate, a 12.6 percent walk rate and a 34.3 percent hard-hit rate in 118 games as a 24-year-old repeating the International League. One positive takeaway from his brief time in the majors: Rodriguez's 76.2 mph average bat speed was an elite mark. Given his age and lack of impact foot speed, Rodriguez doesn't get much hype, but he could be a 25-homer right fielder if he were given the opportunity. He'll be competing with the likes of Will Brennan, Jhonkensy Noel and Kyle Manzardo for playing time, and while he'll likely open the year back at Triple-A, he could find his way into a significant role sometime this summer. Latest Fantasy Rumors

Likely to make roster?
According to Jack Vita of MLB.com, the Guardians haven't officially determined their Opening Day roster, but Rodriguez is traveling with the team to Kansas City and appears set to make the cut.
ANALYSIS
The 25-year-old was optioned to Triple-A Columbus on Friday, but that may end up being just a minor demotion. Rodriguez is one of the organization's top prospects, and he had a .766 OPS over 32 plate appearances during spring training after posting a .301/.390/.540 slash line with 29 homers for Columbus last year. Even if on the roster, Rodriguez likely won't see consistent playing time with Steven Kwan, Lane Thomas and Nolan Jones expected to be regular starters in the outfield.
