The Diamondbacks were able to see Norris pitch four times before the high school baseball season shut down, and they reported improved strike throwing, Nick Piecoro of the Arizona Republic reports.
ANALYSIS
Norris' mid-90s fastball and two breaking balls that flash plus put him in position to be drafted, but the knock on the 18-year-old is a lack of ability to consistently throw strikes. He reportedly issued 107 walks in 141 innings at Green Hope High School in North Carolina. From what Diamondbacks' scouts saw this spring, Norris showed improvement in that area, and the team is convinced it was a harbinger of more to come.
