2025 Fantasy Outlook
Betts missed close to two months of the 2024 campaign due to a fractured left wrist, but he returned to help lift Los Angeles to a championship with a .951 OPS and four homers in the postseason. Now a three-time World Series champion, Betts has been an All-Star in each of the last eight full MLB seasons. His slugging percentage was down close to 90 points from 2023, when he was an MVP finalist in the National League, but Betts still graded out as 41 percent better than league average by wRC+. While he's still just 32 years old, Betts is at the point where he may need a few more days off after battling various injuries and falling below 123 games played in two of the past four years. His speed is starting to dry up, but he knows how to pick his spots, as evidenced by his 16 steals in 18 attempts last season. Eligible at shortstop and outfield entering 2025 -- plus second base in leagues with a 15-game minimum -- Betts should continue to thrive while batting between Shohei Ohtani and Freddie Freeman in the Dodgers' lineup. Ends power drought Monday
Betts went 2-for-4 with a two-run home run, an additional run, a double and a walk in Monday's 5-3 win against Colorado.
ANALYSIS
Betts got the Dodgers off to a fast start with a two-run home run in the first inning. The long ball was the star shortstop's fourth of the campaign, but his first since April 1 -- a span of 10 games. Betts was able to reach base at a steady clip even during the power drought, and he's posted a standout .304/.400/.554 slash line so far this season.

Betts would've easily captured his second career MVP award in 2023 if not for the bonkers season Ronald Acuna put up. The 31-year-old's .307 average, 39 home runs, 126 runs scored and 14 stolen bases were all highs during his time as a Dodger and his 107 RBI broke a major-league record for a leadoff hitter. Not only that, Betts further added to his defensive versatility, starting nearly as many games at second base (62) as he did in right field (77) while also adding his first career 12 starts at shortstop. He fell just shy of retaining shortstop eligibility, but Betts will enter 2024 with dual eligibility and is expected to be the Dodgers' regular at the keystone. You can make a strong argument for Betts being the second pick in fantasy drafts after Acuna.

Latest Fantasy Rumors

Hits service-time milestone
According to Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic, Betts, who is on the 10-day injured list with a fractured wrist, reached 10 years of major-league service time in late June.
ANALYSIS
It's a rare feat for a player, as only 10 percent of big leaguers have reached that mark in MLB history. Betts has been sidelined with the wrist fracture since mid-June, but he continues to accrue service time on the injured list. The 31-year-old has grinded a bit this year while adjusting to a new position at shortstop, but he's still been plenty productive at the plate when healthy with a .304/.405/.488 slash line. The strong performance of Miguel Rojas in Betts' absence could result in more playing time at second base once back from the injured list.
