Best NBA Bets Today (Monday, Jan. 12)
Sam Merrill over 3.5 made threes (+120) vs. Utah Jazz
FanDuel, 4:33 PM CT
Alex Barutha: The Jazz are giving up the most opponent made threes per 48 minutes across the past 10 games (15.8), which is a great opportunity for Merrill to keep it going from beyond the arc. He has taken at least six triples in each of the past nine games, making 4.1 per game on 51% during this stretch.
Day'Ron Sharpe over 6.5 rebounds at Dallas Mavericks (-123)
DraftKings, 1:33 PM CT
Nick Whalen: Sharpe has done his work quietly for the Nets this season but has gone over this number in five of his last six games, averaging 8.7 rebounds per game in that span. Even if he sees relatively limited action off the bench, I like the number against a Mavs team down Anthony Davis and PJ Washington, while Daniel Gafford may also sit out. Over the last 10 games, Dallas is surrendering the fifth-most rebounds per game, including nearly 12 offensive boards per game.
Jusuf Nurkic over 3.5 assists at Cleveland Cavaliers (-161)
DraftKings, 3:45 EST
Ken Crites: The Bosnian Beast has averaged 4.4 dimes per game this year for Utah. And with an over/under of 248.5, clearly a lot of points are expected. That's pretty much my logic — why over think it? Nurkic has been battling a toe injury recently and has missed five of Utah's last 10 games. But in those five games he played, he delivered 5.6 assists per contest. Nurkic is getting better and better at playing with Markkanen and George. The K-Train is 11-4 for the season and 61-47 overall — feel free to fade!
