2025 Fantasy Outlook
In 2024-25, Reaves averaged 20.2 points, 5.8 assists, 4.5 rebounds, 1.1 steals and 2.7 made threes, which are all career highs. He shot 38 percent from deep on a career-high 7.3 attempts per game and made 88 percent from the charity stripe on 5.0 tries a night, also career highs. His production and role didn't change after the addition of Luka Doncic. However, the Lakers may move Reaves to the bench to make room in the first five for Deandre Ayton and/or Marcus Smart, who were both acquired this offseason. If Reaves is forced into a reserve role, his usage might actually go up, as he wouldn't have to share the court with Luka Doncic and LeBron James as often. Given the lofty standards he's set for himself, it'll be difficult for Reaves to take a step forward in fantasy. He has finished as a top-35 player in eight-category leagues in each of the past two seasons, including a top-25 finish last year. Reaves' strong finishes were propelled by missing only nine regular-season games during those two years. Whether he's starting or not, Reaves should be a go-to player whenever he's on the court, but this may be his final year under contract, as he owns a $14.9 million player option for 2026-27. Double-double in blowout win
Reaves registered 25 points (9-15 FG, 2-5 3Pt, 5-5 FT), 11 assists and seven rebounds over 37 minutes during the Lakers' 128-110 win over the Timberwolves on Friday.
ANALYSIS
Reaves flirted with a double-double in Tuesday's loss to the Warriors on Opening Night, but he managed to reach that mark Friday while leading the Lakers in assists and finishing second in points and rebounds to Luka Doncic (49 points and 11 rebounds). Reaves will continue to serve as the Lakers' clear second option on offense behind Doncic until LeBron James (back) is cleared to return, which is expected to be in mid-November.

2023
2022
Reaves continued to show improvement during his third NBA season, setting new career highs in games played, minutes, points, rebounds, assists, steals and made three-pointers per game. Despite improvement almost across the board, Reaves saw his field-goal percentage take a step backward from a blistering 52.9 percent in 2022-23, to a still highly respectable 48.6 percent in 2023-24. He also went from 39.8 percent from behind the arc in 2022-23, to 36.7 percent in 2023-24. Additionally, he showed an increase from 1.5 turnovers in per game in 2022-23 to 2.1 turnovers per game in 2023-24. Regular season and playoffs combined, Reaves hit the 20-point mark on 23 occasions last season, including a season-high 32-point effort on 10-for-18 shooting in a road win against the Celtics in February. He also logged a minimum of 10 assists on seven occasions, including five double-doubles and one triple-double. He hauled in a minimum of 10 rebounds in five outings, including another three double-doubles for a total of eight double-doubles and one triple-double on the campaign. Reaves knocked down more than three three-pointers in nine outings, including a season-high seven threes on two occasions. Looking ahead, Reaves is set to remain the starting shooting guard for the Lakers, playing a critical role as an offensive contributor. He is unlikely to make much of a push for new highs across the stat sheet, considering he averaged over 30 minutes per game last season and must continue to share the ball with the likes of LeBron James, Anthony Davis and D'Angelo Russell.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Likely to remain a Laker
Reaves isn't expected to sign an extension with the Lakers before reaching free agency next summer, but a new contract with the team once he reaches the open market remains the most likely outcome, Keith Smith of Spotrac.com reports.
ANALYSIS
The 27-year-old guard is coming off a career-best season and has a player option on his current contract for 2026-27 worth $14.9 million, but Reaves will likely be able to earn substantially more than that as a free agent. A new deal with the Lakers could be in the range of five years and $150 million, significantly more than the four-year, $87.4 million max he would get with an extension.
