Posts season high in loss
Hyland produced 14 points (5-8 FG, 4-6 3Pt), three assists, one rebound and one steal across 16 minutes during Monday's 108-105 loss to the Suns.
ANALYSIS
After logging just one minute across Minnesota's previous eight games, Hyland supplanted Rob Dillingham in the rotation Monday and made an impact. The 25-year-old guard paced the Timberwolves bench with a season-high scoring haul, and his efforts will likely be enough to keep him in the rotation for at least the team's next game Friday at Golden State.

Playing in his third season, Hyland was notably less productive during the 2023-24 campaign, logging a career-low 14.6 minutes per game across 37 contests. He ended with averages of 6.9 points, 2.5 assists, 0.7 steals and 1.2 three-pointers, leaving him well outside the top 300 in nine-category formats. Despite losing Paul George, it's hard to see where Hyland fits into the rotation moving forward, likely to play a subdued role off the bench. He will contend with Kris Dunn, Norman Powell and Kevin Porter for backup guard minutes, a less-than-ideal situation for a player yet to prove himself. Despite some offensive upside, Hyland is not someone who needs to be considered in drafts, even in deeper formats.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Set for regular role
Hyland has bumped Rob Dillingham from the Timberwolves' backcourt rotation, Jon Krawczynski of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Dillingham didn't get off the bench Monday, the first time he hadn't seen any court time in a game since Opening Night, while Hyland saw his biggest workload since Oct. 27. "We're 24 games in, and I thought it was time to try something different," coach Chris Finch said. "[Hyland] has been patient. He's been playing really well in practice, doing everything we ask him to do. We need a spark there." The fifth-year guard did just that, scoring 14 points in 16 minutes from the second unit, and Hyland figures to remain in that role as long as he's providing the offensive spark Finch is looking for.
