2025 Fantasy Outlook
This summer, the Celtics drafted Gonzalez with the 28th overall pick. The 19-year-old spent the 2024-25 season with Real Madrid and had trouble receiving consistent playing time on what was a veteran-laden squad. The 6-foot-6 slashing Spaniard is an athletic wing with the potential to also play point guard. He's joining Boston at the right time. After multiple all-in seasons, the Celtics need to treat 2025-26 as a bridge season towards 2026-27 and the return of injured star Jayson Tatum (Achilles). That means they need to develop talent, escape the second apron and maintain roster flexibility. With the departure of both Jrue Holiday and Kristaps Porzingis, plus the absence of Tatum, there are plenty of available minutes in Boston. If the C's are serious about their plans to develop Gonzalez, they would be wise to let him play more than the 10 minutes per contest he received with Real Madrid. Unfortunately, much of that playing time may occur with the Maine Celtics of the G League. We'll see. Read Past Outlooks
First taste of regular-season play
Gonzalez supplied six points (3-6 FG, 0-2 3Pt), four rebounds, one assist and two steals over 23 minutes during the Celtics' 105-95 loss to the Knicks on Friday.
ANALYSIS
The No. 28 pick of the 2025 NBA Draft didn't see the floor Opening Night against the 76ers on Wednesday, but Gonzalez made his official NBA debut Friday, when he checked in at the 5:32 mark of the first quarter. He didn't fill up the box score, but he was on the floor for most of the fourth quarter, and his 23 minutes were second most among the Boston reserves behind Anfernee Simons (27). Gonzalez also led the Celtics with a plus-7 point differential, and the Spaniard's hustle on defense could earn him a consistent spot in the rotation as the season progresses.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
In line for more minutes?
Gonzalez could be in line for more playing time after impressing in Friday's loss to the Knicks, according to Souichi Terada of MassLive.
ANALYSIS
Gonzalez delivered good minutes as a defensive stopper and showed an above-average basketball IQ for a 19-year-old. Head coach Joe Mazzulla also praised Gonzalez after Friday's loss to New York. "He understands what it takes," Mazzulla said. "I think he has a clear understanding of what his role is, and it's to defend at the highest of levels and play with a level of effort on the offensive end." The Celtics' rotation is far from settled, so Gonzalez could be in line to see steady second-unit minutes in the near future.
