2025 Fantasy Outlook
Harden was a perennial top-5 fantasy player during his time in Houston, and returned to that echelon in 2024-25 thanks to 79 regular-season appearances, most since 2016-17. Not only was he healthier, but he also got back to shooting more three-pointers (3.0 makes on 8.5 attempts per game, highest marks since 2019-20), which boosted his scoring totals. Even when Harden wasn't flirting with the top tier, he was still a quality fantasy option, finishing inside the top-30 players in eight-category leagues in four straight seasons before his bounce-back campaign. Harden's resurgence can be partly attributed to his pick-and-roll connection with Ivica Zubac, who emerged as one of the best centers in basketball. There is even more room for Harden's offensive creativity to grow in this offense after the Clippers added floor-spacing big man Brook Lopez and high-flying John Collins to the frontcourt. They also swapped Norman Powell for Bradley Beal while signing veteran Chris Paul to add depth in the backcourt. Not to mention, returning rotation players like Kris Dunn, Derrick Jones, Nicolas Batum and Bogdan Bogdanovic will also command sizable roles. Head coach Tyronn Lue will have his hands full trying to get the most out of this deep roster, but the health of Harden and Kawhi Leonard will be paramount. If the star duo is available and firing on all cylinders, this could be one of the best teams in the league. Either way, Harden is in a position to submit another stellar statistical campaign as long as he can stay on the court. Read Past Outlooks
Makes history in loss
Harden finished with 34 points (10-18 FG, 1-5 3Pt, 13-15 FT), six assists, five rebounds, four steals and one block across 39 minutes in Saturday's 109-106 loss to the Timberwolves.
ANALYSIS
The star guard led all players in points en route to surpassing Carmelo Anthony on the NBA's all-time scoring list. Harden ranks 10th in the league's history with 28,303 points and will now look to catch Shaquille O'Neal, who sits at 28,596 career points. Harden also had an impactful performance outside the scoring column Saturday, chipping in a game- and season-high four steals, recording multiple swipes for the eighth time in 23 regular-season outings. Additionally, the 36-year-old tied the game high in assists, dishing out at least six for a third consecutive contest.

Shortly after the 2023-24 season began, Harden forced his way off the 76ers and to the Clippers, joining Kawhi Leonard and Paul George. Playing next to that pair led to Harden's least productive season since his final year in Oklahoma City. He averaged 16.6 points and 2.6 threes on 43/38/88 shooting, 8.5 assists, 5.1 rebounds and 1.1 steals in 34.3 minutes. Despite the reduced numbers, he was still able to return third-round value in most fantasy formats. Harden is still a great passer and three-point shooter, but he's showing his years entering his age-35 season. The primary change is his reduced shot attempts at the rim and fewer free throws as a result. Harden's free-throw attempts have declined in two straight seasons. He took just 4.8 attempts last season, contrasted with 8.2 attempts in 2021-22 and 11.8 attempts in 2019-20. Despite signs of Harden's decline, he may experience a mini-bounceback in 2024-25. George left for Philadelphia in the offseason, with the Clippers failing to replace him with another high-usage player. That leaves plenty of usage on the table for Harden and Leonard. And considering Leonard's injury history, there will be plenty of nights where Harden is the true, clear No. 1 offensive option. Drafting Harden comes with risk, but there's more upside than last season.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Linked to move elsewhere
Harden is expected to have plenty of suitors if the Clippers make him available, Brett Siegel of Clutch Points reports.
ANALYSIS
Siegel notes that it "wouldn't be crazy to believe he would hold a desire to return to the Houston Rockets." That does make some sense, as the Rockets lost starting point guard Fred VanVleet to an ACL tear and could use some help in the backcourt. Additionally, Harden still has a strong relationship with Kevin Durant. Apart from Houston, Siegel points to the Timberwolves as a potential destination, as the team could use some backcourt help to take the pressure off Anthony Edwards.
