2025 Fantasy Outlook
Despite a somewhat slow start to his rookie season, Filipowski closed the 2024-25 campaign with some encouraging performances. Over the final 16 games, he averaged 14.0 points, 8.7 rebounds, 1.9 assists, 1.0 steals, 0.8 blocks and 1.6 three-pointers in 27.4 minutes per game. He followed this up by turning in a dominant Summer League performance, averaging 23.2 points, 9.5 rebounds, 2.2 three-pointers and 1.8 combined steals and blocks, taking home MVP honors. Utah is unlikely to be competitive again this season, instead opting to focus on developing its youth. With John Collins, Collin Sexton and Jordan Clarkson out of the picture, Filipowski should play a more sizeable role right out of the gate. He will have to contend with the returning Taylor Hendricks and Lauri Markkanen, meaning backup center minutes are going to be crucial to his overall value. The Jazz rotation remains curious to say the least, with Filipowski's exact role likely open for discussion. While he should feature on a nightly basis, there is a chance his playing time could once again increase as the season progresses. Read Past Outlooks
Falls short of double-double
Filipowski finished Thursday's 135-119 loss to the Trail Blazers with 15 points (6-9 FG, 1-4 3Pt, 2-4 FT), nine rebounds, three assists and six steals in 30 minutes.
ANALYSIS
Getting his third start in seven February contests, Filipowski just missed recording his fourth double-double of the month while setting a new career high in steals. With the Jazz trying to balance tanking for the top of the lottery against the league's load management rules, the second-year big man is likely to continue seeing his court time and role fluctuate wildly on the other side of the All-Star break. In those three February starts, Filipowski is averaging 15.3 points, 14.0 boards, 3.0 assists, 3.0 steals and 1.3 threes in 31.3 minutes.

2024 Fantasy Outlook
Filipowski was drafted by the Jazz with the No. 32 overall pick in the second round of the 2024 NBA Draft. Filipowski spent two years at Duke before entering the NBA Draft. As a sophomore in 2023-24, he averaged 16.4 points, 8.3 rebounds, 2.8 assists, 1.5 blocks and 1.1 steals in 36 games. At 7-foot, Filipowski also has the ability to stretch the floor, as he converted 34.8 percent of his 3.1 three-point attempts per contest last year. In eight Summer League appearances, the rookie averaged 11.0 points and 1.0 threes on 41/27/70 shooting, 6.0 rebounds, 1.9 assists and 1.0 steals in 22.2 minutes. While the 20-year-old big man will have to earn his playing time early on, a future frontcourt with Lauri Markkanen, Taylor Hendricks and Filipowski could offer a stout interior defense while maintaining ideal spacing on the offensive end. Playing time may not be easy to come by right away, as Filipowksi will also have to fight for minutes with John Collins and Walker Kessler, not to mention Brice Sensabaugh and Drew Eubanks.
