2025 Fantasy Outlook
McNeeley had a few stellar moments during his lone season at UConn, posting a 38-point double-double (12-22 FG, 5-10 3Pt, 9-10 FT) against Creighton in February and a 22-point (6-16 FG, 2-8 3Pt, 8-8 FT) outing against the eventual National Champion Gators during the second round of the NCAA Tournament. However, overall, the sharpshooter wasn't efficient from the field (38.1 percent on 11.5 field-goal attempts per game) or beyond the arc (31.7 percent on 5.4 attempts per game). After the Hornets used their No. 4 overall pick to take Kon Knueppel, they drafted McNeeley with the No. 29 pick. Charlotte also selected Sion James and Ryan Kalkbrenner early in the second round. Knueppel is the only rookie who'll be guaranteed a spot in the rotation on Opening Night, and he'll be pressed to find consistent usage with LaMelo Ball, Brandon Miller and Miles Bridges leading the way. McNeeley will compete with Grant Williams, Josh Green and Tidjane Salaun for reserve minutes on the wings, putting the rookie off fantasy radars in standard re-draft leagues. Read Past Outlooks
Headed to bench
McNeeley will come off the bench in Wednesday's season opener against the Nets.
ANALYSIS
McNeeley received a spot start in Friday's preseason finale with some key guys resting, but he'll begin the season in a reserve role. He's not expected to be a significant part of the rotation.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Lee talks him up
Hornets coach Charles Lee said Wednesday that he has liked what he's seen from McNeeley, according to Hornets Reddit.
ANALYSIS
"Liam McNeeley has great versatility in whatever position you want to put him. Good size, great strength and the ability to move his feet," Lee said. "He's a Swiss army knife. I don't think we need to put a number position on him. He's just a player and he's a winner." McNeeley did not shoot the ball in his preseason debut, but he had seven points, two rebounds, two assists and one steal in 16 minutes. There are a ton of minutes up for grabs in Charlotte due to injuries to Grant Williams and Josh Green, and McNeeley's ability to play multiple spots helps his case.
