2025 Fantasy Outlook
After operating as a sixth man during his first two years in Sacramento, Monk made a career-high 45 starts last season. He also posted career-best marks in points (17.2), assists (5.6), rebounds (3.8) and steals (0.9) per game. Furthermore, despite shooting lower than 35 percent from deep for the first time since 2019-2020, Monk still made at least two three-pointers a night for the fourth time in five seasons. With De'Aaron Fox no longer in the picture following a mid-season trade to San Antonio, Monk took over as the Kings' full-time starting point guard, sharing the backcourt with Zach LaVine. Sacramento added Dennis Schroder and Russell Westbrook to the backcourt depth mix this offseason, and they'll compete with returnees Keon Ellis and Devin Carter for playing time. Monk's role as a go-to playmaker appears safe, but the backups will be chomping at the bit for more usage if Monk struggles. Monk's breakout in Year 8 helped him crack the top 75 in eight-category leagues for the first time in his career. However, despite a few close calls, he's finished inside the top 100 only twice. Things will need to break right for Monk to repeat his performance from last season, but he's heading into 2025-26 in the same spot he finished 2024-25 and is worth consideration around pick 70. Scoreless in nine minutes
Monk closed with zero points (0-5 FG, 0-2 3Pt), four rebounds and one assist over nine minutes during Monday's 116-105 loss to the Pacers.
ANALYSIS
Monk failed to score for just the second time this season, continuing what has been a frustrating campaign. Fresh off back-to-back 20+-point performances, Monk has since scored three and zero points. The Sacramento rotation is impossible to project at this point, making Monk a hard player to trust in standard fantasy leagues.

Monk agreed to a four-year, $78 million deal with the Kings before the start of free agency, and the fact that he was the first free agent signing for Sacramento shows how important he'll be for the team in the team's contention window. Monk came away with a second-place finish in the NBA's Sixth Man of the Year Award race after averaging career highs in points (15.4) and assists (5.1) in 26.0 minutes per game over 72 appearances. His three-point efficiency numbers fell for the third consecutive season, and he made only 35 percent of his shots from beyond the arc, but it wouldn't be surprising if those numbers experienced an uptick in 2024-25. After all, he's expected to operate even more as a floor-spacer and spot-up shooter now that the Kings added DeMar DeRozan in the offseason. Opposing defenses will have to split their attention in covering DeRozan, De'Aaron Fox and Domantas Sabonis, which should open up plenty of looks for Monk, who figures to handle a sizable workload off the bench. He's averaged at least 26.0 minutes per game in two of his last three seasons, and fantasy managers should expect Monk's minutes to hover around that mark once again.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Pistons not interested anymore
The Pistons aren't expected to be interested in acquiring Monk, according to Jake Fischer of The Stein Line.
ANALYSIS
The Pistons were believed to be interested in acquiring Monk to bolster their outside shooting, but that's no longer the case, as they're now one of the best teams in the Eastern Conference. Monk could still have some trade value, but he's not going to join the Pistons any time soon. Teams around the league could still call the Kings about Monk as the season progresses, as he's a proven veteran who can be a plug-and-play option off the bench due to his three-point shooting.
