2025 Fantasy Outlook
Jokic remains the undisputed King of fantasy basketball. Justifiably, French phenom Victor Wembanyama pressed Jokic for the top spot last season, going No. 1 overall in many drafts, but the youngster couldn't stay on the court, allowing Jokic to retain his title with ease. In 2024-25, the Serbian superstar averaged a triple-double for the first time in his career, setting high-water marks in points (29.6), assists (10.2) and steals (1.8) while grabbing at least 12 boards per game for the third time in four years. He also posted career-high marks in three-point attempts per game (4.7) and three-point percentage (41.7). More outside shots caused Jokic's field-goal percentage to drop, finishing with his lowest mark (57.7%) since 2020-21. However, the only player in the league who attempted at least 18 shots a night with a higher field-goal percentage was Giannis Antetokounmpo (60.7% on 19.7 FGA/G). Despite a solid record and past success, Denver fired Michael Malone ahead of the 2024-25 playoffs, and David Adelman seized the opportunity. He led Jokic and company as they pushed the eventual champion Thunder to Game 7 in the second round and was rewarded with the full-time head coaching job. The Nuggets also made a couple of big splashes this offseason, trading Michael Porter for Cameron Johnson and Dario Saric for Jonas Valanciunas, while bringing back Bruce Brown, who was an integral part of their 2023 title run. The rest of last year's rotation remains intact, and Jokic's spot as the offensive fulcrum is as secure as it gets. Not to mention, Jokic is an Iron Man in this era, appearing in at least 69 regular-season games in each of his first 10 NBA seasons. Don't think twice, take Jokic No. 1 in every league. Flirts with triple-double in Game 7
Jokic registered 20 points (5-9 FG, 1-2 3Pt, 9-11 FT), nine rebounds and seven assists in 37 minutes during Sunday's 125-93 loss to the Thunder in Game 7 of the Western Conference Semifinals.
ANALYSIS
Jokic led the team in points and assists while flirting with a triple-double, but it wasn't enough to lift the Nuggets to a Game 7 victory. The MVP candidate still put together an exceptional run this postseason, averaging 26.2 points, 12.7 rebounds, 8.0 assists, 2.0 steals, 0.9 blocks and 1.8 three-pointers in 40.2 minutes over 14 playoff games. After another prolific campaign, Jokic is set to be one of the top players off the board in all fantasy formats in 2025-26.

Winner of his third MVP, Jokic continues to make his case for best player on the planet. He didn't set any meaningful career highs, but that's not exactly an indictment for a 28-year-old who averaged 26.4 points, 12.4 rebounds, 9.0 assists, 1.4 steals and 0.9 blocks in 34.6 minutes. His job isn't getting any easier, though. After last season saw the departure of Bruce Brown, this offseason saw the departure of Kentavious Caldwell-Pope - an important 3-and-D piece. KCP was effectively not replaced, so it will be up to Christian Braun and Peyton Watson to step up. But the Nuggets will start to look really thin really quickly if any member of the starting five suffers a significant injury. That could potentially lead to more usage, or at least more shot attempts, for Jokic in spurts. Whether that potential is enough for fantasy managers to select him No. 1 over Victor Wembanyama is one thing, but Jokic should practically be locked in as a Top 2 fantasy selection this season. It's arguable he's the safest bet on the board in that respect.

Latest Fantasy Rumors

Won't sign extension this offseason
Jokic won't sign an extension with the Nuggets during the offseason, according to Bennett Durando of The Denver Post.
ANALYSIS
Jokic has informed the Nuggets he does not intend to sign an extension this offseason. Instead, the star center has chosen to wait until the summer of 2026, as he'll be available to sign a more lucrative deal then. Jokic's current contract runs until the end of the 2026-27 season and includes a player option for 2027-28, so he's not in a rush to finalize a deal in the coming months.
