2025 Fantasy Outlook
Reed's first season in Detroit after four years in Philadelphia didn't go as he had hoped. Appearing in a total of 45 regular-season games, Reed was limited to 9.7 minutes per contest, keeping him miles away from fantasy relevance. Despite this, the Pistons re-signed him to a two-year, $11 million deal in free agency. He'll be returning to a similar frontcourt, and he'll likely be the third-string center behind Jalen Duren and Isaiah Stewart. Reed does have mouthwatering per-minute stats (particularly steals and blocks) and could be a waiver-wire pickup should Duren and Stewart miss any time due to injuries, but right out of the gate in 2025-26, Reed is facing an uphill battle for playing time. Increased role Friday
Reed had 13 points (6-10 FG, 1-1 3Pt), nine rebounds, one assist and two blocks in 19 minutes during Friday's 115-111 win over Houston.
ANALYSIS
Reed saw meaningful minutes Friday, filling the void after Jalen Duren was ejected. In what was somewhat of a surprise, it was Reed who got the nod over Isaiah Stewart, falling one rebound short of a double-double. Despite his per-minute upside, Reed is unlikely to feature on a nightly basis, although he is worth keeping an eye on, just in case Duren is suspended.

Past Fantasy Outlooks
2023
2022
2021
Reed averaged 4.2 points and 3.8 rebounds as a backup to Joel Embiid last season, and he'll likely fill that role again in 2022-23. New head coach Nick Nurse has also made comments indicating he'll explore playing Reed and Embiid together, not to mention giving Reed some more opportunities on offense. Reed has been a fantastic per-minute producer throughout his three-year career. The idea of extra minutes and usage bring Reed into fringe-sleeper contention, especially for managers in deep formats.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Boston could show interest
Reed is one of the players the Celtics might target in free agency to bolster their frontcourt depth, according to Brian Robb of MassLive.
ANALYSIS
The Celtics should be in the market for center help this summer, as Al Horford and Luke Kornet are headed to the open market, while Kristaps Porzingis could be traded since he's set to earn $30.7 million in 2025-26. This scenario means Boston must sign at least one or two players to add frontcourt depth. Reed is a solid veteran who should give Boston quality minutes, but the fact he's a bit undersized for the position at 6-foot-9 makes him better suited as a reserve.
