2025 Fantasy Outlook
Over the past two seasons, Merrill has made 38.8 percent of his 5.5 three-point attempts per game. The sharpshooter is a consistent part of Cleveland's backcourt rotation behind Darius Garland and Donovan Mitchell and will likely handle a similar role in 2025-26. The Cavaliers swapped Ty Jerome for Lonzo Ball this offseason, but other than that, their backcourt rotation remains the same. Tyrese Proctor, Craig Porter and Jaylon Tyson may push for minutes if they show immense improvements from last season, but Merrill's elite shooting gives him the upper hand heading into training camp. Progressing, not ready to play
Cavaliers head coach Kenny Atkinson said prior to Friday's 123-118 win over the Kings that Merrill is progressing "much better" in his recovery from a right hand sprain but isn't yet ready to play, Spencer German of Sports Radio 92.3 The Fan Cleveland reports.
ANALYSIS
Merrill thus appears likely sit out fifth consecutive game Saturday in Orlando, but he doesn't look as though he'll be at risk of missing as much time as he did earlier in the season, when he was sidelined for a month due to the same injury. In the recent absences of Merrill and Darius Garland (toe), the Cavaliers have been able to open up more minutes for the likes of Jaylon Tyson, Dean Wade, Craig Porter and Larry Nance.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Off to strong start
After Sunday's win over Milwaukee, coach Kenny Atkinson said Merrill has "probably been our best player over the first three games," Chris Fedor of Cleveland.com reports.
ANALYSIS
"Guys just love playing with him," Atkinson said. "He's a winner. That's why we gave him a nice contract this offseason. If there's ever a guy that deserved it, he's the guy." Merrill, who signed a four-year, $38 million deal at the beginning of the offseason, is on a tear to open the regular season with averages of 17.3 points and 4.5 three-pointers on 52.5 percent shooting from the field through four contests. He is slated to miss Wednesday's game with a hip contusion, however.
