2025 Fantasy Outlook
Amid the drama of Jimmy Butler during the first half of last season, Herro put together his best campaign as a pro. He made his first All-Star game with averages of 23.9 points and 3.3 threes on 47/38/88 shooting, 5.5 assists and 5.2 rebounds. His biggest stride as a player was creating for himself more off the dribble and getting to the rim. After shooting 2.6 free throws per game in 2023-24, Herro shot 4.2 free throws last year, and he upped his two-point field-goal percentage from 47.8% to 56.5%. In the process, he eliminated many of the long mid-rangers from his shot profile. Miami will look somewhat different this season, with essentially all of Butler's usage set to be taken up by Norman Powell and Andrew Wiggins. Either way, Herro is the clear No. 1 option on the team and can still make development strides as a 26-year-old. Health is a bit of a concern, though. Herro played 77 games last year but had never played more than 67 games in a prior season. Fantasy managers willing to take the risk will have to pay up following last season's progress, but Herro can probably be drafted with relative confidence in the third or fourth round. Embarrassing performance Monday
Herro posted four points (1-10 FG, 1-9 3Pt, 1-2 FT), one rebound and one assist in 31 minutes during Monday's 138-83 loss to the Cavaliers in Game 4 of the first round of the Eastern Conference playoffs.
ANALYSIS
Herro delivered arguably the worst game of his career as the Heat was bundled out of the playoffs in embarrassing fashion. Despite making it through the Play-In Tournament, Miami will have to re-evaluate its roster during the offseason. While Herro has certainly proven himself to be an above-average scorer, he has so far been unable to take his team to the next level.

Despite another productive season, Herro continues to fall victim to the injury bug, playing just 42 total games during the 2023-24 campaign. When healthy, he was able to replicate his numbers from the past two years, averaging 20.8 points, 5.3 rebounds, 4.5 assists, 0.7 steals and 3.1 three-pointers, good enough for top-90 value in standard leagues. Coming off an NBA Finals appearance, the Heat failed to reach the same level last year, rolling out a squad peppered with injuries, notably Jimmy Butler and Terry Rozier. Coming into the 2024-25 season, Herro and the Heat will be looking to make amends, proving they can still match it with the upper echelon in the Eastern Conference. Herro's role should mirror what he has done in the past, making him a worthwhile target anywhere after pick 70. The question of whether he can remain healthy is something to consider when drafting him, although the same can be said for a number of players in that range.
