With Thornton's counterpart John Mobley (15.1 ppg) sidelined indefinitely by a hand injury, it will be up to the senior to carry the offensive load the rest of the way out if the Buckeyes plan to get on the right side of the NCAA Tournament bubble. Thornton answered the call from an individual standpoint by matching his highest scoring total of the calendar year, but he didn't get quite enough help in what ended up a narrow home loss. The margin for error is quite slim for Ohio State moving forward with matchups against Wisconsin (Feb. 17) and Michigan State (Feb. 22) set for this week.
