Joining Baylor program
Nnaji announced his commitment to Baylor on Wednesday and will begin playing for the team in the second half of the season, Joe Tipton of On3.com reports.
ANALYSIS
The No. 31 overall pick in the 2023 NBA Draft, Nnaji never signed an NBA contract and had been playing overseas with Spanish club FC Barcelona until he mutually parted ways with the team in August. Though the New York Knicks retain his NBA rights, Nnaji will take advantage of a loophole that will allow him to enroll at Baylor with four years of collegiate eligibility remaining. Considering that injuries to Juslin Bodo Bodo (arm) and Maikcol Perez (knee) has left Baylor thin in the frontcourt, Nnaji is a welcome addition that could be quickly incorporated into the rotation.
