Erupts for 33 in loss
Woods ended Wednesday's 73-72 loss to Iowa with 33 points (12-17 FG, 2-4 3Pt, 7-8 FT), three rebounds, three assists and four steals in 40 minutes.
ANALYSIS
This performance came out of nowhere. Woods' previous season-high scoring output was eight points earlier in January in a loss to Purdue, and the guard sat out the first 12 games of the season. Against Iowa, however, he took matters into his own hands, putting up 17 shots. He also got to the free throw line consistently and was able to produce in that facet as well. As of now, this explosive performance is an outlier for Woods, but he'll look to build off this game moving forward into the second half of Big Ten play.
