This is big news for Northwestern, as the big man is easily one of the better players in the entire Big Ten. Last season, he averaged 20.5 points, 6.2 rebounds and 1.7 assists while starting 33 games for the Wildcats. At 6-foot-7, Martinelli has great size and can stress teams in the post while also serving as a stretch big who can hit the three (33.3 percent from distance in 2024-2025). He'll likely be a preseason first-team all-conference pick ahead of his season year in Evanston.
