Rankin came into the game with elevated expectations, considering his 105-yard effort in Week 5 and a matchup against a Lions defense that was the league's most generous on a per-game basis. Yet, Rankin got precious little opportunity on the ground with B.C. quickly building a formidable lead, and his one catch resulted in a loss of six yards and a safety with 8:06 remaining in the third quarter. The entire Elks offense looked out of sorts in the lopsided loss, so Rankin should have a chance for a more normal workload in a Week 8 road matchup against the Roughriders on Friday, July 25 following a Week 7 bye.
