CJ Montes Injury: Loses starting QB gig
Montes (undisclosed) is no longer Kent State's starting quarterback, per Nate Ulrich of the Akron Beacon Journal.
Montes struggled through two games, tossing for 140 yards, one touchdown and one interception while completing just 52.6 percent of his passes. He then was forced to sit out against Buffalo with an injury, paving the way for redshirt freshman Dru DeShields to start. 279 yards passing, two touchdowns and nearly 69 percent completion later, DeShields has won the job and Montes has been usurped. It remains to be seen if he's even available for Week 4 against Florida State.
