Back End Battle in Italy
Colapinto finished 17th in the Italian Grand Prix Formula 1 race at the Monza Circuit on Sunday afternoon.
ANALYSIS
The young driver would start the race P17 after a subpar qualifying effort. Rather than running most of the grand prix on one set of tyres like others in the back, Colapinto would opt to pit on lap 33. That would effectively cut the race into almost two equal stints. The best he could manage from that gambit was P12 and he would eventually fall a lap down to the leaders due to this race strategy. Colapinto would ride P18 down the stretch and only promote one spot at the finish due to other driver's time penalties.
