2023 Fantasy Outlook
After finishing 14th in the series standings in 2021, Tsunoda slipped backward a touch in 2022. He scored just 13 points compared to 32 his rookie season. Some of that slip is due to missing the second race of the season in Saudi Arabia with an engine failure on his way to the grid. That was just one example of Alpha Tauri not living up to their own expectations last season after a competitive 2021, which affected Tsunoda's results. He had six other DNFs following that failure to start. Five of those were crashes, which is where the driver can work to eliminate this year. Despite the struggles he managed to finish in the top 10 four times last season, including the first race in Bahrain. The good news for him and the team is that his single-lap speed appears to be there. Tsunoda's average start was 13.6 with five of those being inside the first five rows. With fewer crashes in 2023, Tsunoda could be a reliable fantasy option in the mid-field battle this season. Read Past Outlooks
