2025 Fantasy Outlook
The Packers took Carlson in the sixth round of the 2023 Draft and gave him a full year as their kicker, before moving on last summer when veteran Brandon McManus became available. Carlson then spent time with the Jets and 49ers, converting 13 of 15 field-goal attempts but just 12 of 15 PATs. The PATs were also an issue for Green Bay in 2023, when he missed five in the regular season and another in the playoffs, but he'll nonetheless get a chance to compete with Greg Zuerlein for the Jets' kicking job this summer. The winner of the battle won't necessarily have fantasy value given the low expectations for Gang Green in 2025. Read Past Outlooks
Competing for starting role
Carlson and undrafted rookie Caden Davis are slated to compete for the Jets' starting kicker job in training camp in the wake of the Jets having released veteran Greg Zuerlein (knee) Friday, Andy Vasquez of NJ.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Carlson kicked for New York in five regular-season games in 2024, while also logging two appearances with the 49ers. In those seven contest combined, he converted 13 of 15 field-goal attempts and 12 of 15 extra-point tries. Zuerlein's release has been expected all offseason, but with the transaction now official, Carlson's path to a starting role Week 1 is unambiguous. The Jets could still bring in further competition, but for the time being, Davis, an undrafted rookie out of Ole Miss, is his only rival for the No. 1 gig.

Past Fantasy Outlooks
2024
2023
The Packers took Daniel Carlon's younger brother in the sixth round last year and were pleased with the early results, but Anders hit a mid-season slump after making all his kicks Week 1-5, ultimately finishing with an 81.8 percent conversion rate on field goals and 87.2 percent on PATs. The rookie then missed an extra point in the first round of the playoffs and a 41-yard field goal in the second round, and the Packers subsequently signed kickers Greg Joseph and Jack Podlesny in the offseason. Whoever wins the job should have at least some degree of fantasy relevance, as Green Bay's offense was one of the best in the league during the second half of 2023 and is stocked with talented, young players.
