Declares for NFL Draft
WRFree Agent
January 6, 2026
Tate will enter the 2026 NFL Draft, per Pete Thamel of ESPN.com.
ANALYSIS
Tate spent three years at Ohio State and progressively got better in the wide receiver factory that is the Buckeyes' program. The former five-star wideout caught 51 passes for 875 yards and nine touchdowns in 2025, a career year. Now, he'll forgo his remaining eligibility and set his sights on the NFL, where the 6-foot-3, 195-pound pass-catcher should draw the interest of plenty of franchises.

Most pro-ready WR, per Yates
WRFree Agent
January 16, 2026
Field Yates of ESPN.com believes Tate is "the most pro-ready prospect" in the 2026 NFL Draft class and ranks the Ohio State product as the No. 9 prospect.
ANALYSIS
Yates believes Tate is "a lock" to be drafted in the first round of the 2026 NFL Draft, which would mark the fifth straight year in which an Ohio State wide receiver was selected in the first round. Tate has not dropped a single pass over the last three collegiate seasons and finished the 2025 campaign with 51 catches for 875 yards and nine touchdowns across 11 games. His body control and contested-catch ability would give any team an upgrade to its wide receiver corps, with Jordan Reid of ESPN.com mocking Tate to the Giants with the fifth-overall pick of the draft to create a formidable one-two punch with Malik Nabers.
