2025 Fantasy Outlook
Johnson tore his Achilles in Week 2 of the 2024 season, preventing him from building on a Pro Bowl 2023 campaign in which he posted 7.5 sacks and seven passes defensed. The 2022 first-round pick was the Jets' best all-around edge prior to getting hurt, and Johnson should return to a starting role once healthy, though his availability for the start of the regular season is uncertain. Good to go Week 14
Johnson (ankle) does not carry an injury designation into Sunday's game against Miami.
ANALYSIS
Johnson opened the week as a DNP due to an ankle injury, but he was able to shed an injury tag for Week 14 after logging a full practice Friday. The fourth-year defensive end has accumulated 15 tackles (six solo), including 2.0 sacks, in four games since the Jets' Week 9 bye.

2022
Not much went right for the Jets in 2023, but the emergence of Johnson was one. After a quiet rookie season for the 2022 first-round pick, he more than doubled his defensive snap count and his production followed suit. Brought in to get after the quarterback, Johnson accomplished that goal by creating 56 total pressures (per PFF), good for a mark inside the top-25 in the league among edge rushers. Johnson also did enough as a run-stopper, tallying 20 tackles in the role. With Bryce Huff and John Franklin-Myers out of the picture, Johnson should have the chance to step into a leadership role along the defensive line and his production could take another jump forward in his third season as a pro.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Pursued by Bears and 49ers
Both the 49ers and Bears attempted to trade for Johnson ahead of Tuesday's deadline, NFL reporter Jordan Schultz reports.
ANALYSIS
Johnson was among the most common Jets to pop up in trade rumors ahead of the deadline, but no deal materialized. The team was reportedly seeking a second-round pick in exchange. Johnson is still on his rookie contract and will play on the fifth-year option in 2026, and the Jets will presumably seek to extend him before he reaches free agency.
