Not tendered by Ravens
The Ravens aren't placing a tender on Mitchell, allowing him to become an unrestricted free agent, Jeremy Fowler of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Mitchell went undrafted back in 2023, which means his original-round tender ($3.52 million) as a restricted free agent wouldn't have entailed any draft compensation. The Ravens opted against it, even though Mitchell averaged 5.1 carries for 30.3 yards (5.9 YPC) over the final 11 games of last season. Derrick Henry will return as Baltimore's lead runner, while passing-down specialist Justice Hill has been mentioned as a potential cap casualty (something that may or may not change with Mitchell becoming a free agent). Meanwhile, Fowler mentions the Giants as a potential suitor for Mitchell.

Mitchell missed the first half of the 2024 season while completing his recovery from a knee injury, and once he did join the Ravens' backfield, there was little work for him behind workhorse Derrick Henry. Mitchell didn't get a carry until Week 17, and he wasn't used on offense at all during Baltimore's playoff run. He did show flashes of his big-play potential as a kick returner and receiver however, and should the 31-year-old Henry begin to break down in 2025, Mitchell might be better positioned than Justice Hill or Rasheen Ali to step into the lead role.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Drew interest at trade deadline
Mitchell was the subject of trade inquiries from multiple teams at the trade deadline, but the Ravens rebuffed the offers, Mike Garafolo of NFL Network reports.
ANALYSIS
That decision has paid dividends for Baltimore in recent weeks, as Mitchell scored a touchdown in Week 13 and broke free for a 55-yard run in Week 14, although he also picked up a knee injury in Sunday's loss to Pittsburgh. Over his three seasons in the NFL, the undrafted back has only 93 total carries in 22 regular-season games but has averaged 7.0 yards per carry, making him a dangerous change-of-pace option behind Derrick Henry. Mitchell will be a restricted free agent this offseason, but given the Ravens' reluctance to trade him, it seems likely that they will attempt to bring him back in 2026.
