Bryan signed a one-year deal with the Bengals on Sunday, Mike Garafolo of NFL Network reports.
ANALYSIS
Bryan spent the last two seasons playing as a rotational piece on the Colts' defensive line, totaling 42 tackles and 3.0 sacks while appearing in all 34 regular-season games over that span. The 29-year-old was a first-round pick for the Jaguars in 2018, and he's never played fewer than 15 regular-season games in his career. Bryan will add some veteran depth behind presumptive starting defensive tackles B.J. Hill (foot) and Tedarrell Slaton.

Bryan joined the Colts last season and appeared in all 17 games, recording 22 combined tackles, including 2.0 sacks, with a forced fumble. He should handle a similar depth role on the team's defensive line in 2024.
Bryan is expected to slot in to a rotational role on the interior defensive line for the Colts in 2023. He recorded 26 tackles (11 solo) and three sacks across 16 games started for the Browns in 2022.
Bryan was drafted 29th overall by Jacksonville in 2018, and he hasn't lived up to his draft position in his first three seasons. The Jaguars declined his fifth-year option for 2021 during the offseason, so he's entering the final year of his rookie deal. The 25-year-old recorded only 18 total tackles and a half-sack in 16 games during 2020.
The 2018 first-round pick had an increased role during his sophomore season and totaled 33 tackles, two sacks and one forced fumble on 487 defensive snaps. Bryan is set to begin the season in a starting role alongside Abry Jones, since free-agent acquisition Al Woods has opted out of the 2020 season due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The rookie first-round pick is unlikely to have a major impact in 2018 given the Jaguars' stacked defense, but could easily carve out a rotational with a strong training camp and preseason.

July 7, 2021
Bryan appears to be on the roster bubble in Jacksonville, Mike DiRocco of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
The 2018 first-round pick enters the final year of his rookie contract after losing his starting job last season to undrafted rookie Doug Costin. While it's possible Bryan reclaims a spot on the depth chart ahead of Costin, the Jaguars added more competition for defensive-line snaps this offseason, signing former Bears tackle/end Roy Robertson-Harris and trading for formers Saints tackle Malcom Brown. With only 3.5 sacks through three seasons, Bryan hasn't come close to living up to the Jaguars' expectations.
