Chandler seemed poised for a breakout campaign after he racked up 82 rushing yards on just 10 carries in Week 2 last season against the 49ers, but he saw double-digit totes in a game only once more after that, failing to score a touchdown in 2024 while averaging just 3.3 yards per carry. His speed is intriguing, but Chandler's lack of a well-rounded skill set hurts him, as did the fact that Aaron Jones stayed healthy last year. ANALYSIS
Since Minnesota designated Chandler for return from injured reserve Wednesday, he followed an LP/FP/FP practice regimen before the team considered him questionable for Week 14 action. Now that he's officially unavailable Sunday, the Vikings will continue to roll with the RB trio of Aaron Jones, Jordan Mason and Zavier Scott. Chandler's next chance to play is Sunday, Dec. 14 at Dallas.

Chandler had a big game against Cincinnati in Week 15 last year, turning 23 carries into 132 yards and one touchdown, and with that showing the 2022 fifth-round pick may have bought himself a ticket to back up Aaron Jones this upcoming season. Chandler is a bit thinner than most running backs (5-11, 204) and doesn't have great vision or instincts, but his 4.38 speed and decent hands make him a useful player all the same. It won't be surprising if he has a significant role from the jump this year, considering Jones has a lengthy track record of injuries -- especially to his right knee -- and often ceded a lot of work to other backs during his time in Green Bay. The competition for roles behind Jones is far from fierce, with Chandler joined by a trio of running backs (Kene Nwangwu, Myles Gaskin, DeWayne McBride) that had five total carries last year.
