2025 Fantasy Outlook
Dissly was the de facto No. 1 option in a muddled Chargers TE room that also included Stone Smartt, Hayden Hurst, Tucker Fisk and Eric Tomlinson for at least eight games apiece in 2024. After six years as more of a depth option in Seattle, Dissly took advantage of his opportunity atop the depth chart and set career highs in targets (64), catches (50) and receiving yards (481) while accounting for the only two touchdown catches among Chargers tight ends. Los Angeles signed Tyler Conklin to a one-year deal in the offseason, and while it isn't a foregone conclusion that Conklin will leapfrog Dissly for the top spot on the depth chart, Conklin has a better track record as a pass catcher, having averaged 554 receiving yards over the past four seasons. Rookie fifth-round pick Oronde Gadsden - who began his college career as a WR - could also contend for targets. Unless a clear No. 1 option emerges, the Chargers seem poised to frustrate fantasy managers with a TE-by-committee approach. Read Past Outlooks
Falls out of rotation
Dissly did not record a target in the 16-3 wild-card loss to the Patriots on Sunday.
ANALYSIS
Dissly played 60 offensive snaps through the first two weeks of the 2025 campaign, but after a knee injury kept him out Weeks 3 to 5, the veteran was largely phased out of the game plan (98 offensive snaps total Weeks 6 to 17), even becoming a healthy inactive near the end of October. As a result, Dissly, who would save the team $3 million in cap space if released by June, will likely be a cap casualty this offseason as the Chargers look to retool their TE depth behind emerging fifth-round rookie Oronde Gadsden.

With the Chargers pushed up against the cap this offseason, much of the Jim Harbaugh era began with cuts or contract restructures, but the team was able to lure Dissly away from Seattle with a three-year, $14 million deal early in the free-agency period. Given that 6-8 behemoth Donald Parham remains on the roster and the Chargers also signed veteran option Hayden Hurst later in the offseason, Dissly - who has never recorded more than 350 receiving yards in his six NFL seasons - has competition for targets in his new locale. While he could be listed as a starter, the 28-year-old may end up making most of his mark as a blocker in a projected run-heavy offense.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Running ahead of Conklin
Dissly has remained the starter at tight end in offseason activities over Tyler Conklin, according to Spencer Schultz of USA Today.
ANALYSIS
Dissly led all Chargers tight ends with a career-high 481 receiving yards in 2024 over 15 regular-season games. Conklin offers more significant competition for playing time at tight end compared to the alternatives on the Chargers' roster last season, as Conklin had 449 receiving yards for the Jets in 2024 and at least 552 receiving yards in each of the previous three regular seasons. Despite the offseason addition of Conklin, Dissly appears poised to retain his spot atop the depth chart, at least based on their usage up to this point.
