NHL Saturday Night: Top Betting Picks and Parlay Insights
Columbus Blue Jackets
at Vancouver Canucks
The Blue Jackets (7-6-0) and Canucks (7-8-0) meet at Rogers Arena in Vancouver. These teams split the season series in 2024-25, with a wild 7-6 shootout victory by Columbus at Nationwide Arena on March 28 in the most recent battle. In Vancouver, the Canucks won 5-2 as a heavy favorite (-220) as the Over (6.5) cashed.
The Over has cashed at a 7-0-1 clip in the past eight meetings since Nov. 26, 2021. The winning team in each of those eight meetings has scored at least four goals, with an average of 7.0 combined goals per game in the span. Four of the past six meetings have been decided in overtime and a shootout.
Columbus is making the third stop on a five-game road trip. The Jackets were bounced 5-1 in Calgary against a bad Flames team. They've been outscored 8-3 in the past two games, which is stunning after posting 4.5 goals per game in a four-game win streak from Oct. 25-Nov. 1.
The Canucks have alternated losses and wins in the past seven games since Oct. 25. The Over has cashed in four in a row, and six of the past seven outings. Vancouver has allowed three or more goals in four in a row, and six of the past seven. Vancouver has allowed 3.3 goals per game, and they're 29th on the penalty kill, which has been a huge reason for its struggles.
Despite Vancouver's struggles, we'll side with the Canucks, while going Over on the total based on Vancouver's trends, and the series trends.
- Canucks ML (-114 at FanDuel Sportsbook)
- Over 6 Goals (-125 at Bet365, BetMGM and Caesars Sportsbooks)

Anaheim Ducks
at Vegas Golden Knights
The Ducks (9-3-1) travel to meet the Golden Knights (7-3-3) at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.
VGK has won four straight meetings in this series, outscoring Anaheim 13-5 last season, cashing the Under in each of the battles. In fact, the opposite of the Columbus-Vancouver series trends, the Under has cashed in five in a row, and eight of the past 10 meetings.
The Ducks are playing tremendous hockey lately, though, winning five in a row, including a wild 7-5 victory in Dallas last time out Thursday. In the five-game streak, it has also swept a season series against the two-time defending Stanley Cup champion Florida Panthers. The Over is 3-1 in the past four games, while going 6-2 in the past eight outings.
Vegas was doubled up 6-3 by the Tampa Bay Lightning on Thursday, while going just 2-3-1 in the past six outings, while the Under is 5-2 in the past seven outings.
VGK is a little overpriced, costing two or more times your potential return. With Anaheim playing well, let's take the Ducks as the underdogs on the moneyline, playing it safe. And, we'll lean low on the total.
- Ducks +1.5 Goals (-140 at BetMGM)
- Under 6.5 Goals (-110 at Bet365, BetMGM and Caesars Sportsbooks)
Florida Panthers
at San Jose Sharks
The Panthers (7-6-1) and the Sharks (6-6-3) meet at SAP Center at 10 p.m. ET.
Florida was torched by the Ducks 7-3 to kick off the road trip, but it topped the Kings 5-2 in Los Angeles as short 'dogs (-105) as the Over (5.5) cashed. The Panthers are 3-1-1, showing some signs of life lately after a rather neutral start.
The Sharks picked up a 2-1 win behind Alex Nedeljkovic as moderate underdogs (+160) as the the Under (6) cashed, improving to 4-0-1 in the past five games. San Jose is an impressive 7-0 on the puck line in the past seven and an underdog, and 9-1 in the past 10 in such situations.
Macklin Celebrini leads the NHL in scoring with 23 points (9 G, 14 A), including three goals and six points with a plus-5 rating in four games in November.
Yaroslav Askarov (3-4-1, 3.88 GAA, .879 SV%) is expected to start, with the Sharks coming off of no rest, and that's why we can't pick the Sharks straight up. But, take San Jose as the underdogs on the puck line, and we'll go low on the total.
- Sharks +1.5 Goals (-118 at BetMGM)
- Under 6.5 Goals (-130 at Bet365, Caesars and ESPN Bet Sportsbook)
