Sammy Blais News: Hits waivers for AHL assignment

Blais was placed on waivers by the Canadiens for the purpose of assignment to AHL Laval, the team announced Sunday.

Blais is in his first year as a member of the Canadiens organization, and he will begin the season in the AHL. The 29-year-old spent the entirety of last season with AHL Abbotsford, enjoying a good season with 59 points in 74 games, regular season and playoffs.
