2025 Fantasy Outlook
After setting career highs in 2023-24 with 49 goals and 120 points in 82 regular-season outings, Panarin took a step back last year with 37 goals and 89 points across 80 appearances. It didn’t help that the Rangers had a rough season overall, but it’s still fair to say that 2024-25 is more representative of what we should expect from the Russian forward in the future compared to 2023-24. That’s partially because age is starting to creep up on him -- he'll turn 34 on Oct. 30 -- and partially because that 2023-24 campaign was such an outlier. Outside of that season, he’s never reached the 40-goal or 100-point marks. Panarin is still an elite forward, and he’ll have some extra motivation going into his contract season, but it’s better to think of him as being one step below the NHL’s cream of the crop when it comes to raw offensive production. Two helpers in NYE loss
Panarin picked up two assists, one on the power play, in Wednesday's 6-3 loss to the Capitals.
ANALYSIS
The star winger had a hand in tallies by Vincent Trocheck in the first period and Adam Fox in the second. Panarin delivered three multi-point performances in the last six games of December, and on the season he's collected 14 goals and 41 points in 41 games. Curiously, Panarin has yet to score a goal on the power play this season, managing just 10 assists with the man advantage after racking up 28 PP tallies over the prior three seasons combined.

Panarin achieved new heights offensively in 2023-24. He only had three 30-goal seasons before potting a career-high 49 tallies last campaign. He also had three 90-plus point performances before erupting for a personal-best 120 points across 82 outings. The 32-year-old forward was also just one of nine players to surpass 300 shots on goal, with a career-high total of 303. Panarin accumulated 44 points on the man advantage, which tied for third in the league. He has recently become one of the bigger threats on the power play, sitting fifth overall with 91 points since 2020-21. Even if he doesn't reach the 100-point mark again in 2024-25, which is a distinct possibility, Panarin has proven to be a reliable offensive force for fantasy managers, making him worthy of a high selection.
