2025 Fantasy Outlook
Comrie's third stint with the Jets started with a largely successful 2024-25 campaign, and he even reached the 20-game mark for the first time. He went just 9-10-1, but his 2.39 GAA and .914 save percentage were the best ratios of his career. He's under contract for another year, and as a veteran backup, he's a good fit to spell Connor Hellebuyck on occasion. However, that means Comrie rarely has enough playing time to sustain widespread fantasy appeal. With little change in his role expected for 2025-26, Comrie will be a fine streaming option when he starts, often in back-to-back sets, but he won't be an option in most standard fantasy formats due to a lack of starts. Comrie will compete with Kaapo Kahkonen to back up the NHL's most reliable, elite netminder. Connor Hellebuyck is a 60-start Vezina winner, so his backup will wear a ball cap most of the season. Comrie has a real chance to earn the gig. He's an original Jet (59th overall in 2013) who delivered a 10-5-1 record, 2.58 GAA and .920 save percentage in this exact role in 2019-20. Kahkonen is coming off one of the worst netminding performances in 2024-25 and might be league-average in the role. Comrie could be more. Still, the Jets' backup is a spot starter and nothing more.
